There is one item I have to have 24V, that is the Kabola E440 diesel pressure jet boiler. It is the only smallish pressure jet boiler that is warranted for fitting in the engine room with a side exhaust. OK so I could go for the 220VAC version, but then you rely on 220VAC. I particularly want a pressure jet boiler, because it is technology I understand as I used to keep our two diesel fired low-bake spray ovens working OK. Beta will do a good deal on a Lecce Neville 175A 24v alternator, I have not even seen a 350A 12v advertised. Indeed the whole Victron system could be 12v, but that would limit me to extracting 5000W with a pair of 2500 / 12 / 120 Phoenix Multi combis from the batteries as opposed to 6000W with a pair of 3000 / 24 / 70 Apparently you have to have a pair of the higher power multi combis to be able to "combine" the 220VAC from a generator over 6KVA, something to do with the charging output. > The BV3300 that I have came complete with the hydraulics for a bow > thruster (9 hp, from memory) and that has been very useful. Good point about the venting. The tanks will be integral and across the boat, so the best plan will be to fit a filler both sides, keeping the other side off as a vent when filling up from serious establishments (also handy for filling what ever way you moor up) -- Neil Arlidge - NB Earnest / Barge Maurice A (on the drawing board) Follow the traveled TNC at : http://www.tuesdaynightclub.co.uk ------------------------ Yahoo!
