No that's why I use chain and rope, let  the anchor and chain go then when a 
reasonable length of rope has gone gradually slow the boat using a turn or 
two round a suitable "bit".
Yes you will get scratched paintwork as the anchor and chain goes but that's 
better than ending up down the coast or up at Maisemore.
