Sorry George.  After 20 odd years, some odder than the others, I guess that I'm 
a bit paranoid about the long holidays.  They have the up and the downside to 
them.  Yes they are long but on the other hand all the little gits that you 
teach are around the same time as you.  Everbody tries to take a holiday a the 
same time as you, it would be nice to cruise on quieter waters!
   
  As I said though the holidays =sanity.

I which case I assume it was aimed at me! I didn't say teachers had an
easy time of it by any means - there is no way I would take the job on
(too many little brats like wot I was), but the fact remains that they
do have a longer break than most other professions (countering that of
course is that they can ONLY take holidays during that time so the
flexibility is much reduced).
