They do certainly know what they are doing - I'm sorry to have missed 
them. The problem you encountered before may have been due to it being 
very difficult to ensure that boiler pressure remains at the required 
level if there are unpredictable delays at locks - on the same section 
of the S Oxford I was sometimes having to run on 80 psi rather than the 
110-115 psi which would be desirable, because of having to close the 
boiler down to keep it under control while we were waiting and then 
having it refuse to build pressure again when we were finally able to 
move.
