All the open paddles closed very quickly - just what you need if
something's going wrong, and much more quickly than you could have
done it on foot, bearing in mind the size of the lock and the fact I
was there on my own!

occasionally, particularly if it's a lock you use regularly (as I
did).

It's nice to see somebody else up and about early on a Sunday morning
- you didn't get up for the Grand Prix, by any chance??
