"a line has to be drawn in the sand" was use by Sue regarding the current BW
DEFRA thingy

This nice little add on to denote a position of no return should now be
consigned to the dustbin

It is being misused!

If we draw a line in the sand and the tide comes in it seems to me likely
that the line will disappear and have to be redrawn.

Similarly a line in the sand in the Sahara would move rapidly south!

A line drawn in the sand dunes would disappear very soon with the wind

I think some over zealous but feted luminary of the management speak
profession has used this incorrectly and like lemmings we have all followed.
Or do they intend that the line can be scrubbed out and redrawn to their
advantage.

Unless any one can plausibly explain why a line in the sand is anything but
a non permanent line !
