Yes. It's not too far if what you want is basically to move most ofthe 
time but if you want to spend time exploring places on the way like the 
excvellent museum mentioned at Claydon, Banbury, Cropredy etc and also 
sample some of the pubs along the way then turning at Banbury would be a 
good idea.   If you do end up with a day to spare then you could always 
go up to Braunston and back.  Braunston "centre of the canal universe" 
is still well worth a visit IMHO.
