I've had this desktop Vaio for a couple of years and it's been fine, but I do appreciate that laptops are different beasts. I suppose as always Sony just have to make their version of a product non-standard ( or they may think, better ). I have had experience of IBM, Toshiba and HP laptops and all have been ok, Toshiba should be ok as they have been doing laptops for longer than most. I agree about HP - their kit has always been very good - I started using it years ago, well their test equipment anyway, and of most of the large companies I like their ethos better than many others. They support open source software for one and do Linux versions of their PC's (:-) -- Malcolm http://www.nb-president.org.uk/
