PC, New ways to get our money for their flashy schemes... That is what this
government is all about. Any wangle to screw us out of more - for what? As for
US getting value for money well... our local maternity just closed - at three
weeks notice. It was all that was left of our original hospital which was
closed and the land sold for building houses to pay for a flash new hospital in
a town 40 miles away. Once the maternity's closure was announced the protests
and petitions started with no-one for the closure. But... when our MP
(non-labour so they give us nowt in our Shire County) complained about the
instant closure in the house Jack Straw told him that no doubt it was shut
because 'that's what THE LOCALS had wanted' and by wanting it to shut no doubt
us locals felt we would, in future get a better maternity service by travelling
25 miles to the next unit. So work that one out!. With such logic is there any
hope under Blair?.
When Blair goes the chief screwer will take over and, if he loses the next
election the other two lots are as bad or worse! Our best bet would be to get
rid of them all and get out of the EU but looking at programmes like question
time one gets the idea that we are all not the people who count and the
majority can be led by the nose just giving the odd moan.
Incidentally... did anyone out there get to be in the audience at question
time? From watching they all seem hand-picked and stage managed while mostly
seeming to be on a different wavelength to us in the sticks. As for Milly he
had lovely teeth and seemed to be anything but genuine. Still Ken Clarke seemed
to love him. Me - I prefer Frederick Forsyth (who writes a good book too).
