Hello, all I wonder if anyone has experience of trying to get a gas fridge fixed? Mine is an Electrolux model RM4206 and I think it is just the ignition that has failed.
First I tried looking for spares on the Electrolux website, but had to give that up before I lost the will to live. Then I rang Electrolux but they just passed me on to Dometic, who said I would have to go back to the dealer who sold the fridge. As the boat came with fridge installed a long time ago (1994) and a long way away, this is not really an option. I found a local (Yiewsley) service agent on the Dometic website, but when I rang them they said they no longer service boat fridges I can get it hooked up to the 12 volt supply, but that might be a bit hard on the domestic batteries - will it? won't it? The original installation has a vent to the outside but is not totally room-sealed, and as I understand the Boat Safety rules, I would not be allowed to replace the present one with a similar one (even if I could get one) - it would have to be a room-sealed one? I hope someone can give me some useful advice - or even silly advice, I could do with cheering up! Thanks in advance Dorothy
