There never was a plan by the government. It was BW who raised the spectre
of privatisation, simply so as to be able to knock it down - the oldest
trick in the book. What BW want is financial independence, the ability to be
to raise money on the markets and speculate in property away from waterway
sites which to an extent they've done already) Personally I can't see Brown
and his sidekick Prudence ever allowing this: consider how they reacted when
the Post Office came to it with a similiar request to be able to raise its
own finance. But sadly - apart from screwing us for every last penny - Robin
Evans appears to have no Plan B.

He is a remnant of old-style Thatcherism which is why Sir Adrian supports
him so wholeheartedly. IMO the sooner he's gone the better. Come on Gordon,
this is the time for change.
