Historic Royal Palaces, a charity accountable to Government. When Robin Evans was first appointed commercial director of BW, a wise old BW hand told me: "Don't get fooled by the heritagey-looking background. He's as hard-nosed and commercial as they come." So it has proved. That said, I don't think the press report under discussion is strictly relevant (though it should be ;) ), as it was talking (I believe) about "operational" royal palaces such as Windsor rather than HRP's non- operational touristy ones like Hampton Court.
