I would say that the situation is similar on the K&A west - including  
the lack of a patrol officer, allegedly.

Wot, no smiley?  Those of us labouring in the public services who  
have to decide what weight to give petitions are only too aware that  
many of those who sign on the dotted line are not doing so because  
they fully support the cause.  Which, of course, devalues the concept  
to some extent.
