It was the figure we were given by a friend who telephoned us to get out 
before the bridge came foul of the Spirit of Freedom on Avon. Now, we can 
see the river clearly from our house and the speed some of the debris was 
going I am inclined to believe the figure as astonishing as it may sound. 
Amongst other things, huge chest freezers, sheds, caravans in bits, trees, 
fridges, gas bottles, were all whizzing by. All these had been forced under 
the bridge and popped up again.
