Wasn't this a problem a couple of years ago too? ISTM that most owners of craft moored on the Avon do make at least some sort of arrangements (not all adequate, to be sure, but at least an effort) to make sure they are secure and able to ride out floods. But caravan owners seem just to go on blithely setting up right by the bank in times of low water, and then watch the thing become amphibian (for a short period) when the river eventually rises. Doesn't anyone tell them that water levels vary, a lot, on the Avon? PS Andrew, thanks for the interesting report, but could I recommend the idea of "paragraphs" to you? Please?
