I'm not sure that there has been baiting. Sometimes when statements 
become too contentious people just cannot let those through without 
responding...........just as you would in a pub, face to face.

In a pub though, if a person continually put forward views that were 
constantly reviled by all the other regulars, the person in question 
would either shut up (for self-preservation) or shut up because their 
natural humility would tell them that the whole of the rest of the 
world cannot be wrong all the time. In this case I believe, and still 
do, that Dorothy's solution is the very best. If a person became such 
a bore in a pub, eventually, all the regulars would move away from 
him at the bar, or would be deep in conversation when he came into 
the pub. The same applies here. If the antagonist is totally ignored, 
just as you would a troll, then eventually he will accept that others 
have a right to their opinions or he will wither on the vine as 
loneliness sets in. Seems the best solution here.
And for Bob's sake that's all I intend (unless severely provoked) to 
say on the matter.
