Oh I love it whan plans change!

On Tuesday went to the brewery and got back to the boat about half hour
before high tide, decide it was to good a chance to miss so we left and
went back to Queenborough.
Chatted to Mike on the VHF as we passed Conyer where Janna is moored and
arrived at Queenborough and spent another night there.
Watched as a yacht came in with a broken engine excellent approach under
sail with a good 2 knot tide against him. Forcast for Wednesday was 1m
swell in the estuary and up to force 4..........

Wednesday
Left Queenborough at 9am and decided to have a look to see how bad it
was.

The answer, it wasnt bad, so we set off across the estuary towards
Shoeburyness and then off up towards the Crouch.
As we reached the point where, on certain states of the tide, you can
turn across Maplin sands and go in to the River Roach at Havengore I
called the range officier to see if it was ok to cross the firing range
and go that way. He said it was, so we duly steered towards Havengore.
This passage involves crossing the broomway an ancient road that is
about half a mile out to sea at high tide and only about 6 ft below the
surface on a spring tide. Waited for the Bridge keeper at Havengore to
lift the bridge and passed through about an hour before high tide.
Went up tto Roachford for a look and then came back to Horseshoe corner
and anchored for the night.

Sitting here at present awaiting the tide turning so that I can see if
the Anchor resets OK then off to bed.

Tomorrow we are off to Battlesbridge on the Crouch as Caro has heard
there is a good antique centre there.............

More to come
