I can vouch for that as i was on one of the sailing barge trips (the 
last one) It was probably the best ten quid I've spent in London in a 
few tears - an hour and a half on a sailing barge going twice under a 
raised tower bridge. Can't find it on the website for this years 
festival though but their are many booked bridge lifts for sailing 
barges over the weekend. but the festival is well worth a visit in 
its own right.

I videoed the bridge lifting from the sailing barge and have put it 
on youtube - unfortunately can't access youtube from work but if you 
were to search on Tim Lewis and/or tower bridge opening you may find 
it.

Not only is their Thames festival that weekend but it is also London 
Open House weekend which makes the weekend a real highlight of 
London's calender, I personally think that the events should be held 
on different weekends as their isn't enough time in one weekend to 
enjoy both. A great weeekend to be in the Capital - the weathers 
normally good as well.
