According to BW's 2005/6 Annual Report the busiest lock on the 
system in 2005 was on that stretch (Colwich).

We did around 500 miles this summer incorporating all of the T&M, 
the main line Shroppie, Caldon plus some and the main queues were 
on the T&M between Middlewich & Fradley.

What I found most fascinating on our trip was the very 
significant number of new and expanded marinas - odd that, I 
thought that our resident expert on the costs of moorings said 
that the market is so under-priced that there is incentive for 
new investment.
