"Hard Working Boater" is a modern song, written by David Blagrove.

Words and music can be found at
http://home.clara.net/rod.beavon/hwboater.htm . This site suggests the
15 mile pound is between Tardebigge top lock and Gas Street Basin, but
that doesn't really fit with a London to Birmingham run (unless the
spelter was imported via Gloucester?), and anyway, the Tardebigge to Gas
Street length is part of the Birmingham Level (453ft) which extends also
to Lapworth top, Factory bottom, Swan Village, Coombswood and Blowers
Green and is ISTR some 50 miles overall length.
