Thanks to one and all - very interesting, as I'd hoped.
Our LP gave very little info about the sources of its material - very
frustrating now. I suspected that the song in question was by David B,
and I think it's probably him singing it. In view of his strong
associations with Stoke Bruerne in particular and the London to
Birmingham traffic in general, I think my money's on the Stoke to
Whilton pound.
(We could always just ask him, of course!)
