Overpopulated? According to British Waterways, they
don't have any on the canal network.

They are not mentioned at all in the Waterscape list of
wildlife to be found on the canals:

In the 2007 survey of animals seen on canals, out of a total
of 3724 animals spotted, there was apparently not even
one sighting of a Canada goose:

Perhaps they have been mistaken for mallards?
