Oh I don't know, I tended to prefer the days when canalling had it's
bits of excitement like empty pounds and suchlike when you could set to
and resolve it yourself (after all it would have been three days before
BW arrived!). The Huddersfield Narrow still has a flavour of
exploration about it - is the canal enviroment now getting a bit too
pristine?
John - who in two years time will have plenty of time to come and help
with trip boats (living just into the peaks from Chesterfield) but who
will probably by then not be aboe to afford to run a car to get there!
