I recall going on the "Submarine" at a rally at Little Venice in the learly 80s - Very full of computer games and "radar".
At the time of the Falklands war a pal of mine met the destroyer on the Southern Oxford and upset the matelots (crew of 6! - Yhey were bussed to & from barraks and overnight moorings) by calling "Blow me, is that all we've got left?" There is a story that their first appearance on the Leeds & Liverpool had not bee telegraphed to the staff. The lock-keeper at Office Lock in Leeds nearly had a thrombo when he saw a submarine and a destroyer rising in his lock through the toll-ofice window.. Ray Nb Owl Down Shropshire
