The rally was up the Naas Branch, at the harbour at Naas (the piccy where
all the boats were gathered)
That was it as far as the big boats were concerned. On the way back in the
rubber boats, it was so clear that I could see that even with the [EMAIL
PROTECTED] in
the canal, Earnest could easily get up to the dropped bridge and wind. As
soon as we got back in the rubber boats I announced I was going up in
Earnest. Waterways Ireland had even cut back some of the trees up the
Corbally Branch, especially for the Rally. There was a hushed silence then
suddenly a whole lot of people wanted to come. Having proved that it was
indeed easy, the next morning a whole load of them (includling a sizeable
barge) went up with no problem.

I have still be unable to get any of even the Irish narrowboats to go up the
stunning Milltown Feeder (Grand Supply). We have now been up three times and
done the three drainage canals across the Pollardstown Fen (very much like
Wicken Lode off Burwell:Lode / River Cam.
If you dredge through these there are some piccies of all the Milltown
Feeder / Pollardstown Fen.
