Even that's not enough unless you add a restriction on gaps between
visits. If it came to court, you'd have to show that the boat was
there every night of the 15 involved in the overstay. You might get
away with every other day, but to be solid, you'd need to log the
boat there each day.
Patrol officers now carry digital cameras so that they can produce
date stamped proof that they attached a patrol notice to overstaying
boats.
