I've never been passed by so many cyclists (hardly any pedestrians
outside the main shopping centres, though) as when walking the
Paddington Arm recently. I don't think I've ever been thanked for
stepping out of the way so many times, either - so far as I was
concerned it was a matter of courtesy and/or logical self-preservation,
but they'd obviously all been trained in a hard school to issue thanks
at all costs! :-)
