I'm planning next year's cruise to the northwest which will include the 
Rochdale and Huddersfield canals.

I wondered whether there is a recommended way or advantage/disadvantage of 
going clockwise (i.e. going up the Rochdale and down the Huddersfield) or 
anticlockwise. I shall probably be approaching from Manchester having done 
the Lancaster beforehand.and leave via the Peek Forest canal. My preference 
at this stage is to go clockwise as it saves doing the Ashton twice.
