This mirrors a debate Sheila and I had last night. It's quite true,  
the level is probably significantly higher at the upstream, Alrewas,  
end. But the board at Wychnor is supposed to tell you about the  
safety of the river section, not just what it's like at W. IMVHO, it  
should be set lower, so as to alert you to the flow you are likely to  
find at the weir.

Yesterday, there was a distinct flow through the moorings to the  
adjustable weirs at the downstream end - Quidditch was doing about 2  
knots, we reckon.
