Yes Adrian, very clumsy. Because in being so clumsy you misrepresented him - the sort of thing that in a local newspaper office would be a sackable offence and something that would at least merit an apology, of which I see no sign in your posting. And really! it is no use saying that you accept what he said because you go on to misrepresent him again in your final paragraph: "Nonetheless, bananas aside,I think what John said at Brum was exactly a recommendation to give up traditional campaigning for BW's grant to be raised, and to move to something more effective. But I sh/could have said so more clearly." No, Adrian. This is NOT John's view. In fact if you read what he wrote carefully you will see he says 'Old style campaigning might prevent further cuts.'
