Quite chuffed with the 3 dongle that we have on PAYG. It's the E220,
which was selected mainly because of its (not officially documented)
compatibility with Linux. Some or all of the others don't have ready
compatibility.

Coverage seems good in most places we've tried, other than home (where
nothing works anyway) and one or two places up the Severn.

One aspect which might matter is the cost of overseas use. 3 have
roaming at UK prices in a short but obscure list of countries and are
otherwise very expensive. As far as I can see, the other operators are
all outrageously expensive anywhere overseas.

Having recently looked hard at getting 3G access for a colleague working
in France, it came as something of a surprise to find that the prices in
the UK are actually quite good. The French seem to be lagging behind us
both in coverage and in price - virtually no PAYG as we know it, and
rather expensive (although Bouygues Telecom havd a special offer which
wasn't too bad, but on 24 month contract). I digress.

Wassail!
