It *is* on the GU. The Birmingham & Warkwick Junction Canal (aka the Saltley
Cut) was part of the Grand Union system, having been promoted and managed
jointly by directors of the Warwick & Birmingham and Warwick & Napton
Companies, become part of the joint management of all three 'Warwick canals' in
1917, and sold to the Regents as part of the 1929 amalgamation.

The change from GU to BCN is just north of there, hence the former stop lock
'Nechells Shallow Lock'.
