Was Titanic a single prop ship and if not could they have turned better with 
the prop(s) on one side forward and the ones on the other backing?

I think that's what I've have done! (assuming putting it into reverse
did not reduce its ability to turn, as discussed in other posts? But
Mr Murdoch must have known that.)
