I have a copy of a signed report from all the major fuel injection
equipment suppliers, worldwide, that clearly states that only EN590
derv is to be used in their equipment. Its dated 2004.

Knowing VW group have said certain models in certain markets can run
on bio-diesel I recently bought a VW group car with their latest
diesel engine. I find that they are adamant I must not use bio-
diesel.

When I started to probe and question them on this and pointed out
that EN590 already contained 5% bio and was/is targeted to move to
10% & 20% over the next few years AND we are all using BS????
whatever gas oil their reply was somewhat opaque and I felt
disingenuous. It seems it may not be the bio that is unsuitable but
the fact that it does not comply with EN590.

VAG's refusal to explain exactly where the problms with bio were
likely to manifest themselves leaves me with the distinct impression
that the manufacturers are suppressing the truth of the matter. I
further suspect it may be related to the emissions not being tested
with bio-diesel and possibly the variability in bio-diesel
constituents. However I can not afford to risk several thousand
pounds worth of engine damage.
