Main problem with the Three network seems to be that they won't let
their modems switch down to GPRS if you are in a poor signal area. A
Three phone should switch over to the Orange GPRS network, but not
their E220 modem.
Another thing - Three don't like you using an unlocked phone from
another network. A friend was using his Three SIM card in a Vodafone
unlocked phone, and Three sent him a text threatening to cut him off
if he didn't buy one of their own Three phones.
I've just spent a couple of weeks trying to get 3G working on an
Orange phone, several hours talking to Orange helplines, only to
discover that the new SIM card they had sent me wasn't a 3G-enabled
card.
