I think you'll find it was the first - but I was wrong with the year. It was 1996. Bill's original letter to WW was published in 1995 and his mailing list started as a result of that. Issue no 23, 31 Nov 1995, first introduced the topic of a get-together, and Ansty was even mentioned as a possible location. Subsequently Jeff stepped up and organised it the following year.
