'ow Do All ... I guess the old guy will have to step in here ... We
will have to give this round to Andy ... The first GIG was at Ansty
and done by Jeff. Year 1996 and I've got the plate to prove it ;-} I
believe the whole idea was put up by Aussie Col and about 75 of us
showed up. The first night was fantastic as each person arrived those
who got there first had a great round of pin the name on the body.

Judy and I first met Joe on the G.U in 1995 just after we pick up
Blue Heron and were taking it on a short cruise. As we passed this
little grey boat a voice rang out from it inside and the next thing we
hear was " OW,..Ow Blue Heron ... It's ME Joe " Being new to the cut,
reading boat names came second to just steering the thing in a
straight line. After throwing a rope to this little man in a black
hat and black vest we stopped and have a few words about how great it
was to put face to keyboard. It was the start of many great meetings
and good times on the cut.
So Joe ... We raise a jar to you and will put your name alongside
those others who made our journey on the canals that much more
memorable.
