Apologies for the lousy spelling on my last message. I was writing on a Blackberry Pearl with a half-qwerty keyboard whilst wandering around Morrisons. The word "ectesplaying" actually should have read "extrapolating". I can understand if the results are a bit 'pony' in more rural areas. The whole thing about the mobile being able to report its whereabouts is one we've been trying to address at work by disabling the GPS, but the (ab)users have been complaining that they can't then find out where they are. Looking at what our US cousins are doing with their E911 legislation, it doesn't seem unreasonable that they'll mandate that all mobiles have to have GPS (if they haven't already) and in the event of an emergency call, the phone should supply GPS coordinates to the emergency services. -- David Morris blog: http://www.brassedoff.net/wp
