I don't see what being a charity has to do with submitting what you're
effectively admitting is a second rate design for a iconic site. Blimey, if
it's possible to galvanise the boating public to support restoration of the
Avon, surely it can't be beyond the wit of LANT to galvanise it to support
the construction of a lock keeper's house.

Start a fund; I'll chuck in a tenner. It'd be worth it not to have to live
with that awful thing that's proposed. IMO if we can't get something better,
then we might as well have a basic house since there's no inherent
justification for a chalet except there was one there before.
