I know this sounds a crazy idea but has thought been given to the idea of
raising up the house? The nature of the existing design would lend itself to
this procedure which is common in the US and has been used to move various
listed buildings in the UK including the Dickens' pub in St Catherine's Dock
in London and the pub which used to be in the Arnedale Centre in Manchester,
the name of which I forget.
