No it isn't.  A democratic poll includes verification of the
electorate (i.e. who has a right to vote, and making sure no-one votes
more than once), and proper (and widespread) advance notice of the
vote, among other things.

By no means.  I mean, just because I receive it as a ng using news
reader software, why should I think of it as a ng?
