Aden, Vietnam, Northern Ireland, Iraq, Afghanistan to name but a few where it is patently obvious from history that conventional armies will never defeat a dedicated and determined terrorist group fighting for their cause. After every attack they fade back into the background, frustrating the army troops and leading to atrocities like the My Lai massacre of civilians in Vietnam. Learning from history.....yeah right!!!
