My brother's wooden narrowboat is about to pass Leicester going south - I was a bit surprised to learn that the weather is apparently quite mild up there at the moment compared to the hard frost down here in London! Has the Grand Union iced up yet further down? They won't be able to get through once the canal starts to freeze over....
