The "removable link" type of belt is NOT just for emergencys! It is a
current drive unit in many applications. Take a look at

Any decent Belt supplier should be able to get you a new one and
probably has a length in stock. Just ensure that you have the correct
sectio, Z/10 A/13 or B/17 If you fit a new one they do take a while to
bed in so monitor your belt tension VERY regularly after installation
and take up on the alternator adjuster. If you get to the end of
adjustment just remove a link or two. Keep monitoring until it settles
down. Nothing wrong with these belts particularly for your
application. I have one on my lathe <G>
