Indeed.  nb Thorn had this type of belt on the HA3, possibly for the same
reason.   When it finally died I easily bought a replacement length from an
engineering supplier in Cardiff.   Google for Brammer belting.  Ideally buy
the little tool which makes joining and removing links easy at the same
time.
