Just caught up with this thread after a few days off line. I took Bream 
onto the Flash a couple of years ago but was unaware of the advice to go 
around the edge. Heading straight for the centre of the flash from the 
bridge (VERY slowly!) I got maybe two boat lengths out before grounding. 
Didn't even try to turn after that and reversed back through the bridges 
to the first winding point.

Have to say that though I loved the rest of the river I won't do the 
last section into Winsford again (until the Middlewich link opens!) as I 
thought it was pretty uninteresting.
