Talking of Watneys though reminds me that one of the local micro-breweries is recreating a couple of the Phipps brews. Anyone who boated into Northampton many years ago may remember the brew What? When? Where? I remember spending many happy hours staying with my great-uncle near Abington Park within sight and sound (and smell) of the brewery - and visiting the nearest thing they had to a brewery tap nearby. Oh for a reminiscent glass or two. Another trip to the Northampton Records Office seems justified. Now which bit of the family do I desperately need to sort out this time??!
