The oil looked pretty thick and black to me - if he's still looking
for advice, I'll ask about his maintenance habits. We're on the
Nantwich embankment, so he can always trundle it round to the Canal
Centre if it's still bothering him.
The Beta 43 manual recommends oil and filter change every 250 hours,
but on the advice of Iain Bryceland when we got the boat, I've been
doing it every 200, equivalent to 6,000 road miles.
Like the old RN artificer said, "Oil is cheap, engines are expensive"
and it's still comparatively true even now.
