I see hits from mail-archive.com, and on the messages there, email
addresses are disguised by removing several letters or digits. So
although a google search with Phil's address finds those messages,
the messages themselves do not contain his full address. Of course,
since Phil's name is mentioned right next to his address, it is easy
to guess what the missing letters might be!
Fortunately, automated email scrapers are not good guessers, so you
should be reasonably safe (except from long lost friends).
I think we signed up long ago to have mail-archive subscribe to the
list, but I no longer recall the motivation.
