Does anyone know anything about the Gloucester and Berkeley Canal - are there any web resources? I was just re-reading Paul Gogarty's The Water Road and on page 146 he says: "By 1796 some canals such as the Gloucester and Berkeley were employing conveyor belts [to dig the canal]"
We moved to Berkeley a couple of years ago and don't know anything about the Gloucester and Berkeley Canal and where its route was. Thanks Liz [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
